Last week, members of the Bindaree Livestock team, joined by CEO Andrew McDonald, hit the road for the Queensland Producer Roadshow, visiting Taroom, Blackall, Clermont and Springsure.
The roadshow provided a fantastic opportunity to connect with producers across Central and Western Queensland, strengthening existing relationships and meeting plenty of new faces along the way. Across the four events, the team shared insights into the Bindaree business, including our expanding feedlot capacity, feeder programs, processing operations and end markets.
From local pubs to showgrounds, each venue provided a relaxed and welcoming setting that encouraged great conversation, valuable networking and plenty of questions from attendees.
At each event, Andrew delivered an update on the Bindaree business, reflecting on the company’s growth since its establishment in 1981. He also shared insights into the current global trade environment, with a particular focus on market conditions in China and the United States.
Joining the roadshow was Desiree Jackson from Desiree Jackson Livestock Management, who focused on the fundamentals of cattle nutrition to optimise performance. Covering topics such as rumen health, establishing young cattle and achieving balanced nutrition, Desiree provided attendees with practical strategies that can be readily implemented on farm.
ProFeedlot veterinarians Dr Jemma Postle and Dr Alyse Wood also travelled with the team, delivering presentations focused on animal health and preparing cattle for feedlot entry. Their sessions covered best-practice vaccination programs, weaning and transport protocols, all aimed at setting cattle up for success and maximising feedlot performance.
In tick-affected regions, Dr Jemma Postle and Dr Nick Myers from Clermont Veterinary Surgery provided additional insights into achieving tick clearance across the herd.
One of the highlights of each event was the Q&A panel discussion, followed by lunch, featuring Bindaree’s premium 100-day grainfed beef.
Following the success of the roadshow, Bindaree looks forward to hosting an exciting calendar of producer events across New South Wales and Queensland over the next 12 months.
