2026 Feedlot Trial - Pre-Registration Form

* indicates required
Now in its third year, the Bindaree Food Group + Colin Say & Co Feedlot Trial & Carcass Competition is back — bigger, better, and built to deliver more insight than ever before.

Every producer has a theory about how their cattle perform. The feedlot trial gives you the facts.

From the moment your cattle arrive at IRLX through to carcass assessment and grading, the program delivers genuine, end-to-end visibility of how your genetics and management decisions translate into commercial results — under consistent, controlled conditions, alongside your peers. It’s not just numbers on a page. It’s a firsthand look at your cattle’s full story, and the knowledge to make better decisions long after the trial is done.

Now entering its third year and growing in both scale and ambition, the 2026 program has been strengthened with new inclusions designed to deepen the value of every entry. Genotype testing at induction provides early insight into the genetic potential of your cattle — a powerful new data layer to pair with feedlot and carcass outcomes. Competing producers will also have the opportunity to nominate their strongest pen of three head for entry into the BEEF27 Carcass Competition, creating a clear pathway to benchmark your cattle on a national stage.

This year also introduces a Hoof Judging Breakfast at IRLX, a Carcass Information Session and Chiller Walk Through, and continues with the highly attended Myola Feedlot Open Day — where you’ll walk with your cattle, hear from guest speakers, and make your BEEF27 selection firsthand.

The program concludes at the Presentation Dinner at Inverell Jockey Club — an evening to celebrate performance and participation across the full supply chain. Participants will compete for a range of Individual and Group awards, with the top two overall winners earning a place on the Bindaree Producers Tour to China in 2027.

If you’re focused on performance, feedback, and continuous improvement, this is the program for you.

The centrepiece of the trial. Head out to Myola Feedlot near Croppa Creek and walk with your cattle as they progress through the program. Following processing, producers are invited to view their carcasses after grading and attend a dedicated information session designed to bring the data to life. Morning tea included.

Answers to all the common questions about the trial

The trial is open to beef producers entering a pen of 5 head in any of the following categories: Angus Steer, Angus Heifer, Crossbreed Steer, or Crossbreed Heifer. If you’re unsure whether your cattle are eligible, get in touch with our team and we’ll help you work it out.

Yes — producers are welcome to enter multiple pens, including across different categories. Entering multiple pens is a great way to compare performance across genetics or management groups within the one program.

New to the 2026 program, genotype testing will be conducted at induction for all participating vendors. It provides early insight into the genetic potential of your cattle, giving you a powerful data point to sit alongside your feedlot and carcass results. Full details on the testing process will be provided upon entry confirmation.

At the Myola Open Day, competing producers will have the opportunity to select their strongest pen of three head to nominate for entry into the BEEF27 Carcass Competition — one of Australia’s most prestigious national carcass events. It’s a unique opportunity to benchmark your cattle on a national stage, straight out of the trial.

The primary delivery location is IRLX – Inverell Saleyards NSW on 7 July 2026.

Additional delivery centres across New South Wales and Queensland have also been made available.

  • Dubbo Saleyards NSW
  • Wagga Saleyards NSW
  • Roma Saleyards QLD
  • Moura Saleyards QLD

If you’re located outside the New England region and would like to use one of these alternative delivery locations, please indicate this when completing your entry form.

Attendance at each event is the producer’s choice, though we strongly encourage participation wherever possible — the more of the program you experience firsthand, the more value you’ll take away. Events are designed to be genuinely useful, not just ceremonial, and each one offers a different lens on how your cattle are performing. The Myola Open Day in particular is a day we’d love to see every producer attend.

2025 Myola Feedlot

Open Day

The 2025 Myola Feedlot Open Day was a day of connection, learning, and shared passion for Australian beef.

For many, it was a chance to see where their cattle take the next step in the supply chain, gain insights into feedlot performance, and witness firsthand the dedication behind the Bindaree story.

From genetics and animal welfare to nutrition and innovation, the day showcased the collaboration and transparency driving Australia’s beef industry forward — and the families behind it.

Because at Bindaree, it’s more than beef — it’s people, passion, flavour.

our feedlot

As a recent graduate of a Bachelor of Business and a Bachelor of Law, this cadetship afforded me incredible exposure to an international corporation that has coverage across the full supply chain in the red meat industry.

I visited our many sites across the east coast in Inverell, Croppa Creek, Sydney, Burleigh heads and Brisbane. The opportunity to travel with work is something I find very rare for any Graduate opportunity and something that has made this experience so unique.

I worked in all core functions of Bindaree’s supply chain. I have worked in the feedlot where I contributed to the feeding and livestock teams as well as having experience with the daily operations on plant garnering an understanding of a processing facility. I also worked in logistics and sales to understand what happens once the product is packed and ready to be distributed. The program quickly teaches you how all roles are important and how the mechanics of a supply chain operate.

Bindaree supported me through further studies in Certificate IV Meat Processing Leadership and a Beef Specification Certificate from Ausmeat.

I would recommend Bindaree to anyone interested in a unique experience with a growing Australian owned business.
