Banner Icmj Partnership

Bindaree Food Group is proud to announce a new three‑year partnership with the Australian Intercollegiate Meat Judging Association (ICMJ), supporting the next generation of talent across the red meat supply chain.

As a not‑for‑profit organisation, ICMJ plays an important role in educating and inspiring students and young professionals, helping them build the skills, confidence and industry connections needed for long‑term careers in red meat.

Through the partnership, Bindaree will serve as a key sponsor of two major annual ICMJ events — the Northern Conference in Rockhampton each April and the National Conference in Wagga Wagga each July, from 2026 to 2028. These events provide valuable opportunities for participants to share knowledge, build networks, and gain real‑world insight into careers across the supply chain.

Supporting ICMJ aligns closely with Bindaree’s commitment to developing people and strengthening capability across the red meat sector. The partnership also complements Bindaree’s growing graduate program, helping create direct pathways for emerging professionals to join the business and build rewarding, long‑term careers.

In addition to the three‑year agreement, Bindaree is proud to be the naming co‑sponsor of the 2026 ICMJ Asia Tour, which commences this week. The two-week program will showcase Australian products in key export markets, with participants visiting retailers, distributors and processing operations across Japan, China and Indonesia, providing valuable insight into how Australian beef is positioned globally.

We’re especially proud that our own team member, Jo Tulloch (Livestock & Feedlot Senior Analyst) has been selected as one of only six participants for this year’s tour. Jo will join other emerging leaders visiting a range of meat service operations — including some of Bindaree’s valued customers.

In another exciting first for Bindaree, 2026 will also see our business enter a team in the ICMJ Meat Judging Competition in Rockhampton this April. The competition offers a hands‑on learning environment where participants can test their skills, gain industry exposure and connect with peers from across the sector.

We look forward to sharing updates from the ICMJ Asia Tour and the Meat Judging Competition in the months ahead, as Bindaree continues to invest in the people who drive our industry forward.

Bindaree Colin Say Banner

Regional collaboration giving producers clearer feedback, stronger connections and a reason to celebrate.

When Bindaree Food Group and Colin Say & Co launched their feedlot trial in 2024, the goal was simple: create a practical way for commercial producers to see how their cattle perform all the way through to carcase. Just a year on, entry numbers doubled and the trial has become a key date on the calendar for breeders across the New England and North West of NSW.

Cattle entered in the program are inducted into Bindaree’s Myola Feedlot and fed for 100 to 120 days, across clearly defined classes that reflect real grain‑fed market opportunities. Throughout the program, teams track growth, feed efficiency, marbling and yield, turning day‑to‑day feedlot performance and carcase data into meaningful feedback for each participating producer.

For Bindaree and Colin Say & Co, that information is not just numbers on a page – it is a direct link between on‑farm decisions and the beef reaching domestic and export customers. The trial helps identify cattle that combine performance, carcase quality and eating quality traits, supporting the consistent, big‑flavoured beef that underpins Bindaree’s brand promise.

The annual awards dinner brought this story to life, turning data into a shared celebration of the people behind the cattle. Hosted in Inverell, the evening brought together producers, agents, sponsors and the Bindaree and Colin Say & Co teams to recognise stand‑out pens and individual animals, as well as the effort it took to get them there.

This year the event was guided by MC, Lindsay Douglas, and featured a panel discussion with Bindaree’s CEO, Andrew McDonald, General Manager Livestock, Zac McInerney, and Colin Say & Co Agent, Ben McMahon.

The atmosphere in the room reflected that mix of insight and enjoyment – from the moment guests sat down to plates of Bindaree’s big, bold beef, the focus was on connection and pride in the region’s product. Behind the trophies and photos was a strong sense of community, with families, younger producers and long‑term clients all represented at the tables.

Sponsors also played an important role in making the trial and the dinner possible, backing everything from data capture and animal health through to livestock transport and venue logistics. Their support helps ensure the program can keep evolving, expanding classes and refining the way feedback is presented to producers in future years.

By opening Myola’s gates to more entries, sharing objective feedback and creating space to celebrate the results, the program is strengthening the link between paddock and plate and rewarding the producers who are committed to lifting the bar, year after year.

The Australian Meat Processor Corporation (AMPC)’s new campaign ‘More to Meat’ encourages people to speak about an industry they’re proud of by showcasing Australian red meat processors’ contributions to regional communities and the national economy.

Everyone has ideas about Australia’s red meat processing industry, but there is more to the industry in communities like ours than meets the eye.

Agriculture is an essential part of regional Australia, creating jobs and economic activity right across the country. Red meat processing is an important part of the local agriculture supply chain; we work with farmers and retailers to deliver our region high-quality produce.

The AMPC recognises the importance of regional towns to the national red meat supply chain and has launched a new campaign called More to Meat.

It is estimated that the entire red meat processing industry contributes more than $21 billion to the Australian economy annually in total national industry value add.

Red meat processing may outperform expectations nationally, but we are most proud of our local contribution. The red meat processing industry provides an important source of reliable economic activity and employment for people across the region.

Boasting a world class product, advanced manufacturing and local processing, what’s not to love!
